Third Party Liability

What is Third Party Liability Coverage?

Third Party Liability (TPL) is the coverage for civil liability or towards third parties that applies if the driver causes injury to a third party and/or their property. This coverage is included in Avis H8, SC, F2, AR, and 54 rate codes. Third-party liability coverage provides coverage for up to a maximum of USD 500,000.

Avis is not responsible if the accident was caused by:

  • Breach of the rental contract (for example, by allowing an unauthorized person to drive the vehicle or if the driver has driven under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other illegal substance)
  • Breach of the law
  • Customer negligence or recklessness

Third-party liability coverage does not cover death or any injury suffered by the driver, passenger, or any damage to personal items in our vehicle.

Coverage periods:

The contracted coverage will begin when the customer signs the rental contract and pays the required cost or at the time the customer pick up the rented vehicle.

The contracted coverage will end when the rental period ends, when any of the terms mentioned in the rental contract are not met, or when the vehicle is not returned to the rental location according to the scheduled return date.

In case of an accident, the lessee must file the corresponding report for the accident and submit it to the rental location of the respective rental company
