Additional Liability Insurance

What is ALI (Additional Liability Insurance)?

This insurance protects the renter and all authorized drivers of the vehicle against claims for bodily injury or death to third parties as well as damage to property by increasing the limits to USD 1,000,000 per occurrence for rented vehicles in US locations.

When and where does ALI apply?

The principal driver as well as authorized additional drivers are covered while driving the rental vehicle within the United States and Canada, but only if the same starts and ends in the United States. This coverage does not apply in Mexico.

Exception:

The limit is USD 2,000,000 per occurrence for rented vehicles in Florida, Hawaii, and New York.

When renters purchase the insurance in Florida, ALI will have a coverage of USD 1,000,000 for uninsured drivers.

Unless otherwise specified, the maximum amount of ALI included in the rate is USD 1,000,000, even if the limit in your state is USD 2,000,000.
