To drive our vehicles, all drivers need to be at least 21 years old and have held a full, valid driving licence for at least 1 year at the start of your rental.
If you or any of your drivers are under 24 when you pick up the vehicle, you will each have to pay a young driver surcharge.
To rent vehicles of vehicle category H, minimum age is 24 years old.
A credit card in the name of the main driver must be produced at the time of rental.
Budget accept: American Express, Visa and Mastercard.
Regrettably, Budget are not able to accept cash and debit cards
All drivers must bring all parts of their valid driving licence with them. The driving licence documents must be valid for driving the rented vehicle in Croatia.
Driver/renter must posses a driving licence for at least one year.
You must bring:
✓The card used for your booking or another card in your name.
✓Recent photo ID taken within the last 10 years.
We will accept your passport or driving licence if it contains a photo, a national identity card or any other form of government-issued identification.
When the car is pick up, Budget will require a credit card owned by the lessee and with an available limit to place a hold on a specific amount. The amount may vary depending on the car category and rental period, and it serves as a guarantee for Budget. This amount is not charged or deducted from your invoice; rather, it is temporarily retained throughout the duration of the car rental.
Upon returning the vehicle to Budget in the same condition as when it was collected, the company has up to 72 hours to request the release of the blocked amount on your card. The time it takes to release the hold varies depending on your credit card operator.
Amount established by Avis in the rental agreement. This amount will serve as a guarantee in case of any unforeseen circumstances, ensuring funds available to cover extra costs. It will be released after the car is returned.

Collision Damage Waiver reduces your liability if the vehicle is damaged.
If the vehicle is damaged you will pay the cost of repair up to the excess amount.
If your rate includes CDW this cost is already included in your rental price.
CDW is included in most rates sold on Budget websites.

You will pay a one-off fee. This fee includes the cost of a full tank of fuel, plus the cost of us refueling the vehicle for you.
We will not reimburse you for non-used fuel unless you return the vehicle with a full tank.

You pay for fuel based on the factory-installed fuel gauge.
We calculate the price by rounding down the fuel level to the nearest eighth (1/8) of a tank.
We charge market price per litre of missing fuel plus tax plus refuling charge in amount of EUR 60,00 (taxable).
Yes, some rental locations let you collect the vehicle and any optional extras from one rental location – and return them to another.
The price depends on the rental location. If you want to pick up the vehicle and return it to a different location in the same country, you can expect it to be between EUR 40,00 and EUR 135,00 (taxable).
If you want to pick up the vehicle in Croatia and drop it off in another country, you can expect the cost to be between EUR 135,00 and EUR 2.080,00 (taxable).
The exact price for this will be either shown or disclosed to you before completing your booking and stated on your rental agreement. Please be informed that this fee is mandatory for local one way rentals as well as international one way rentals.
You can request a one-way rental when you book – or you can ask for it when you get to the rental location.
If you asked for a one-way rental when you booked, the fee will be included in your rental price.
You will be charged a one-way fee at the ‘pay at location’ tariff valid on the day you return the vehicle.
Some of our rental locations offer a Delivery Service where we drop the vehicle – and any optional extras you pre-booked – off at a time and place you request.
The vehicle delivery fee depends on where you’re renting and where the vehicle is beingdelivered to – but you can expect it to be between EUR 20,00 and EUR 40,00 (taxable).
Where a Delivery Service is available please give us 24 hours’ notice that you would like us to deliver the vehicle to you.
Some of our rental locations offer a Collection Service where we collect the vehicle – and any optional extras you rented – at a time and place you request.
We charge an additional fee for collecting the vehicle.
The fee for this depends on where you’re renting and where the vehicle is being collected from – but you can expect it to be between EUR 20,00 and EUR 40,00 (taxable).
Where a Collection Service is available please give us 24 hours’ notice when you want the vehicle collected.
The customer is responsible for all fines and charges issued because of you or your additional drivers using the vehicle.
Fines and charges could include:
✓All parking fines or charges
✓Toll charges
✓Towing charges
✓Clamping costs
✓Traffic fines or charges
✓Speeding fines
✓And any other charges or fines
If a fine or charge is sent to us because you have not paid a charge or complied with the law, we will take payment for:
✓Our administration fee of HRK 312,50 for each fine or charge issued, which will be charged in the currency of the country where the fine occurred.
✓Plus, the fine or charge if we must pay it Cleaning fee.
If the car is returned to a station other than agreed - outside the same city - at time ofCheck Out and noted in the Rental Agreement, an amended return fee of HRK 437.50 is being charged for the additional fleet disposition cost.
If you are late we will guarantee your rental for 2 hours.
After this time your reserved car may be released and rented to another customer.
If you are delayed and arrive outside of office hours due to a delayed flight no additional charge will apply. This only applies if you enter your flight number when booking.

It may be possible to collect the vehicle out of office hours. This must be requested at the time of booking. The charge for this service is EUR 50,00.

If the vehicle is returned outside of office hours the driver is liable for damage or theft until the car has been inspected by a member of Budget staff.
You may return the vehicle out of hours if you request this at the time of booking.
There is no charge for this service.
You are not allowed to use the vehicle in:

✓Ukraine

✓Belarus

It is allowed to travel to:
✓Bosnia and Herzegovina
✓Serbia
✓Montenegro
However there is mandatory charge in amount of EUR 83,00 (taxable) for Cross border insurance. The Cross border insurance is insurance for countries which are not part of EU and are considered higher risk countries.
Costs for roads with tolls, tolls for bridges, vignettes etc. are entirely your responsibility. If you do not pay these charges before use such roads or bridges, you will be charged a fine.
No additional documentation is needed to be completed for cross border rentals.

Travel into Austria: All vehicles driving in Austria must have a Toll Sticker that can be purchased at the border. The Toll Sticker is available for specified length of use, with a minimum one-day purchase. Fines for neglecting to purchase the Toll sticker start at EUR 200.00.
Travel into France: Any car entering France must have two breathalyzer kits. Driver not having them in the car will be liable to a fine. The kits can be purchased at petrol stations. It is advisable to buy them before crossing the border with France.
