Rental Conditions in Chile

The minimum age is 22

Budget Chile accepts:

Please note that the credit card must have the renter's name and numbers embossed on it.

Physical credit cards that are not close to their expiration date must be presented; otherwise, delivery of the vehicle may be refused.

A valid driver’s license from the country of residence, passport and credit card must be presented in person at the time of rental.

Customers renting group N must be authorized by the driver’s license to drive vehicles for more than 11 passengers, otherwise the car will not be rented.

The international driver's license is only required for those countries that do not use the Roman alphabet and only serves as a translation of an existing driver's license and by itself is not valid for car rental.

All drivers must meet the same minimum age and driver’s license requirements as the renter and be present at the time of rental.

The cost is CLP 990 plus tax.

At the time of rental we will request an authorization on your charge card as follows:

If CDW is accepted:

✓Groups N, O and XL
Estimated rental charges plus CLP 600,000

✓All other car groups   

Estimated rental charges plus CLP 400.000

If CDW is declined:

All groups:                                       

Estimated rental charges plus CLP 3.000.000

Purchase of CDW reduces the customer’s financial responsibility for the Budget vehicle as a result of an accident, fire or theft. CDW does not cover windshield damage/cracks or damage to tires or wheel rims. Theft coverage does not cover car accessories such as radio, hub caps, etc.

In case of accident, fire or theft: USD 250.00
In case of turnover, rollover or flipped: USD 2500.00

In case of accident, fire or theft: USD 1000.00
In case of turnover, rollover or flipped: USD 2500.00

If CDW is declined the customer is required to sign 2 vouchers of a credit card with a statement indicating that in case of collision, damages or theft the customer will be fully responsible for the rental vehicle, theft, third party expenses and all expenses associated to the accident or theft. If the credit card does not have the amount requested as a guarantee from Budget, the client will have to accept and pay for CDW, otherwise the car will not be rented.

Verify the scope and limits of this insurance at time of booking.

SLI is available for purchase at the counter to raise the limits of coverage for damage to property and persons outside the Budget vehicle.
 

Provides USD 1,200 for medical coverage for injuries due to an accident and USD 12,000  for accidental death or permanent disability due to an accident.

Applies to the renter and all passengers in the vehicle. 

The insurance will start its covers after the car’s insurance and client’s personal medical insurance.

At the end of the rental the vehicle is to be returned with the same amount of fuel as it was rented with or fuel charges will apply.
 

Cars can be returned to other locations within Chile based on car availability. 

For the moment, the Border Crossing Permit service is suspended, so it is not possible to leave the country with the vehicle.
